blackberry pavilion
This small addition provides flexible living space to an existing home with spectacular mountain views but no adequate connection to the outdoors. Composed mostly of operable glazing, this structure can be tuned to the seasons. In warm months, it can be converted into an open-air pavilion, while in cooler months, the building becomes a glass pavilion warmed by the sun and a small fireplace. Located atop the connector, between the house and the pavilion, is a rooftop terrace, offering additional outdoor living space and distant mountain views. A rainwater collection system captures water to provide sustainable on-site irrigation for landscaping growing around, as well as on, the building.
